amela is a tomato brand with high sugar content developed at an agricultural experimental station in Shizuoka Prefecture. It was announced in 1994, managed by Sun Farmers Co., Ltd., and registered as a trademark. Production seems to be limited to Shizuoka and Nagano prefectures.
“Amera® Tomato” is managed by a special cultivation method to pursue deliciousness, and at that time, it contains high concentrations of nutritional ingredients such as vitamins and amino acids. It seems to be able to meet the strong demand in the present age where health consciousness is increasing. In addition, we have acquired the JGAP certification system, aiming for farm management that is trusted from various angles, such as environmental conservation, hygiene, and human rights welfare on the farm. As a cultivation manager system, it seems that it is also possible to attend the instructor training. Honeyponic Co., Ltd. is actively working to flexibly change with the times without being bound by conventional wisdom.
Grown in a harsh environment, amera® is about 30% the size of regular Momotaro tomatoes and has a very concentrated flavor. In summary, an excellent agricultural product that has created a high-sugar tomato market through theoretical marketing. In addition, in terms of brand building, we aim to differentiate ourselves from other prefectures by setting a sugar content standard that other production areas have not done, and by non-destructive sugar content measurement of all products, and express objective deliciousness.
