By the end of the 16th century, the vegetable had spread to England, Germany, Italy, Spain and even the eastern Mediterranean countries. From the late 18th century to the early 19th century, large-scale production was carried out in Ireland and England, during which time it seems that it was on its way to the United States. Since it is native to the northern part of the Mediterranean Sea, it is resistant to dryness and has a strong sweetness because it stores a lot of water in the spherical part. In German, Cole seems to mean “cabbage” and rabbi means “turnip”.
If it becomes too large, the meat quality will become hard and voids will easily form inside. A type of abnormality that occurs in the roots, which spoils the cells inside and creates cavities, which refers to this. It seems to be more likely to occur if the harvest is delayed or if the enlargement is stagnant due to some obstacle. It depends on the variety, but it is better to choose one with a diameter of about 5 to 10 cm. It seems that the ones with taut skin and leaves, plump, and the ones with crispy foliage are good. Things that are light in your hand seem to have less water.
Although not shown in this work, the Maebashi Agricultural Cooperative (JA Maebashi City) created a mascot character by general application in 1994. Applicants at that time seemed to have designed Jajagon in the sense that “JA Maebashi’s eggs that do not know what will be born. With the potential and expectations of JA Maebashi where unknown things will be created.” JA Maebashi City seems to reach another milestone of the 30th anniversary of the merger in March 5th year of Reiwa. In addition, it seems that the mascot has an intention to “grow the image character” while promoting cooperative activities that are closely related to the community. It seems that everyone involved is full of expectations and hearts for the further success of “Jajagon”, which has grown up with legs.
