The Aomori Prefecture Original Melon Production Liaison Council was established in 2010 by the Youth Department. It seems that we are aiming to take the lead in Tsugaru’s agriculture and to maintain and expand the production area in response to the problem of lack of successors to agriculture. For that purpose, we think that it is necessary to have a place to exchange information that is useful for improving production technology and quality, and the youth club is deepening exchanges between generations who have never had exchanges before, and is enlivening Tsugarian Melon with young power. In addition, while the shortage of successors is being criticized in various parts of Japan, it seems that he is doing it with the hope that he will give cultivation guidance to local agricultural high school students and get them interested and work on melon cultivation in the future. Every year, we give guidance on the cultivation of “Honey Golden Melon” from planting to harvesting and shipping to the first graders of the biological production department of Goshogawara Agricultural and Forestry High School in Goshogawara City, Aomori Prefecture, marking the time of 16 and 17 years.
