In February 1955, Watari Town, Arahama Town, Yoshida Village, and Okuma Village merged to form the current Watari Town, WATARI District. Petroglyph painting of Kassenhara Ruins No. 38 tunnel tomb (Asaka-Nara) was discovered in 2015. Moved to Yamamoto Town Museum of History and Folklore in October 2018 and preserved.
